Why Safety is Necessary for Growth

When spell casting or manifesting, it’s really important to acknowledge the voices that don’t believe we deserve what we desire, that encourage us to remain stagnant or blocked because it’s safer, listen to them and give them the love and safety they are looking for.

Usually those voices are afraid, hurt, and trying to keep us safe and protected by not moving toward risk. If I chase my desire and I fail, it might hurt. If I try something new and I make a mistake, it could hurt. The risk involved with magic might not feel safe to us.

Then, protection magic, safety, focus on calming the nervous system, stepping into the light, surrounded with people who affirm our hearts and true selves, with spiritual practices that make us happy and light us up, these are the places to start. Help those voices feel safe.

I love protection magic. And I will always encourage you to prioritize your safety while being your truest and fullest expression of your divine beautiful self.

Which means acknowledging the parts of ourselves that are afraid and loving on them, parenting them until they feel safe.

Risk is necessary for growth, but safety is necessary for risk.

——————————————————————————————

There is a risk inherent in growth. You have to step out of your comfort zone. Even if your comfort zone is toxic, the parts of you desiring safety may avoid the risk. In order to grow, to change, to accept blessings, to accept the results of spellwork, we must feel safe.

It might mean reparenting yourself. Securely attached children explore the world with the touchstone of safety from their caregiver. It is important to explore safety with Spirit, with the universe, with yourself. Can you trust yourself to keep you safe? The universe?

A lack of safety, trust, open heartedness, belief in goodness, can block blessings attempting to maintain the equilibrium of the status quo to avoid the risk of the unknown. The more we listen to those parts of ourselves and give them love, the more we can open to receive.

——————————————————————————————

I know I emphasize this a lot but I see it happen a lot. A person has so much potential and says so many prayers and even powerful spells, but at the same time has a fundamental fear of change, of the unknown, of stepping out of their comfort zone, even if their comfort zone is one of lack, struggle, or pain.

It is so important to focus on protection, safety, creating a loving environment for ourselves so we can start to relax and trust that we are loved, protected, and it is safe to take risk, exploring the world, walking into the unknown to accept blessings.

This might mean dealing with our codependency, the parts of ourselves that overcommit, overgive, and are not comfortable receiving compliments or gifts, these parts might need to feel a sense of control and might feel unsafe being out of control. These parts can block blessings.

We may need to comfort parts of ourselves that are afraid of change, that don’t trust goodness will come, that cling to the safety of our misery, because at least we know it.

——————————————————————————————

If you recognize yourself in any of this, take some time to explore those parts of yourself, ask them what they need, and shower them with love, safety, and adoration.

Most likely they are trying to love you and keep you safe by avoiding risk, but you can lovingly take their hand and show them that the risk of something new is better than a painful status quo.
